Health-tested Olde English Bulldogge stud dogs with papers
This American breed was created to bring back the athletic bulldog of two centuries ago: free breathing, free whelping and able to work. That goal only holds when breeders keep testing. On VerifiedStuds, every owner is identity verified, and each profile shows registry papers and health results beside the fee.

Claim this spotOlde English Bulldogge stud fees usually run from $800 to $2,000. A health-tested male with no proven litters often asks $800 to $1,200. However, titled and proven sires from established lines can ask $1,500 to $2,500.
These are market estimates, since fees are private. Rare colors raise prices too, although color tells you nothing about health or breathing. The stud fee guide explains contracts and return services.
$800 to $2,000+
Overall range (estimate): $800 to $2,500
Health-tested, unproven male: $800 to $1,200
Titled or proven sire: $1,500 to $2,500

The breed is registered by the United Kennel Club, not the AKC. So it has no AKC parent club list and no CHIC program. However, breed clubs agree on the main risks. We suggest these results:
Test
What we accept
Hips
OFA hip evaluation or PennHIP
Elbows
OFA elbow evaluation
Heart
Cardiac exam registered with OFA
Eyes
Exam by a board-certified ophthalmologist
DNA panel
HUU, DM and other bulldog markers
Brucellosis
Negative test taken before the breeding
Hip dysplasia is the most common problem, as in other bulldog breeds. Therefore, many Bulldogge breeders use PennHIP, which gives a measured score. In addition, skin allergies, cherry eye and bloat all occur. OFA accepts dogs of any registry, so results still appear on the OFA website.
See OFA vs PennHIP and our other health testing guides for how each test works.
First, check his papers. The United Kennel Club has recognized the breed since 2014, and several breed registries exist as well. Because other bulldog mixes are sometimes sold under the same name, ask for a pedigree that goes back several generations of Olde English Bulldogges.
Next, watch him breathe and move. The whole point of the breed is function. A good male has open nostrils, a muzzle of moderate length and an easy, athletic stride. He should handle a brisk walk on a warm day without distress.
Finally, look at type. Males stand about 17 to 20 inches and weigh 60 to 80 pounds. He should be muscular and balanced, not low and overdone. So prefer moderate dogs over extreme ones.
David Leavitt of Pennsylvania began the breed in 1971. He crossed English Bulldogs with American Bulldogs, Bullmastiffs and American Pit Bull Terriers, following a planned breeding scheme. His aim was a healthier dog with the look of the old working bulldog. The UKC describes the breed as confident, friendly and alert.
At home, Bulldogges are loyal, steady and good with families. However, they are strong and need early training. As a result, breeders look for sires with calm, confident temperaments.
Unlike the English Bulldog, a well-bred Olde English Bulldogge can usually mate and whelp naturally. However, artificial insemination is still common, and chilled semen lets breeders reach established lines in other states. Each profile lists the methods on offer.
The dog artificial insemination guide explains timing and shipping. Then see how VerifiedStuds works.
