What a French Bulldog stud fee costs

French Bulldog stud fees usually run from $1,500 to $8,000 or more. Standard colors such as fawn and brindle often sit around $2,000 to $4,000, while rare colors, proven producers and champion pedigrees reach $5,000 and up.

Most owners also charge for collection and shipping when semen travels, so check what the listed fee includes. Our stud fee guide explains fee structures, return-service terms and what to put in writing.

Health testing every Frenchie stud must show

We follow the French Bull Dog Club of America's CHIC list. A stud can carry the Verified Health badge when its owner uploads these results:

Test

What we accept

Hips

OFA hip evaluation or PennHIP, registered with OFA

Eyes

Eye exam by a board-certified ophthalmologist (DACVO), registered with OFA

Patellas

Veterinary patellar luxation exam, registered with OFA

Heart

Basic cardiac exam (auscultation) or advanced (echocardiogram)

Brucellosis

Negative test taken before the breeding

Recommended and shown on the profile when present: tracheal hypoplasia, elbows, Juvenile Hereditary Cataracts (HSF4) DNA, airway grading (RFGS) and Cystinuria DNA. Many Frenchie breeders also test for DM and HUU through Embark or Wisdom Panel, and owners can upload those too. You can look up any registered result on the OFA website.

Natural breeding, chilled and frozen semen

Most French Bulldogs are bred by artificial insemination because of their build. Therefore, each profile states which methods the owner offers: on-site natural or AI, chilled semen shipped overnight, or frozen semen. Progesterone timing for the female is normally the dam owner's cost.

New to shipped semen? Then read the dog artificial insemination guide, or see how VerifiedStuds works from search to booking.

French Bulldog stud FAQ

How much is a French Bulldog stud fee?

Most fees fall between $1,500 and $8,000. Standard colors often cost $2,000 to $4,000, and rare colors $5,000 or more.

Can French Bulldogs breed naturally?

Some can, but most are bred by artificial insemination. Their narrow hips and short airways make natural ties difficult and risky.

What health tests should a French Bulldog stud have?

At minimum hips, eyes, patellas and a cardiac exam registered with OFA, plus a recent negative Brucellosis test. Also look for the Verified Health badge.

Can I get French Bulldog semen shipped?

Yes, if the owner offers chilled or frozen semen. In addition, the profile shows which options are available and whether shipping is included.

What is a return service?

It is a free repeat breeding if the female does not conceive. Terms vary by owner, so confirm them before you book.

Does VerifiedStuds guarantee a litter?

No. We verify owner identity and health documents, but conception and litter outcomes depend on both dogs. Any guarantee comes from the stud owner's terms.
