Breeder spotlight: Sage Puppies, South Jordan, Utah
"Wisely Bred. Beautifully Loved." That's the tagline at Sage Puppies, and after looking through how they run their program, we think they live up to it. Sage Puppies is a boutique, home-raised program in South Jordan, Utah, and it's one of the breeders we're proud to spotlight as amazing.
Sage Puppies was founded by Cassie Milar. It's intentionally small: a boutique program where puppies are raised in the home and matched carefully with their families, not a high-volume operation.
Sage Puppies focuses on three small, family-friendly breeds:
Havanese: the cheerful, affectionate national dog of Cuba
Havapoo: Havanese x Poodle
Cavapoo: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Poodle

Sage Puppies puts real thought into early development. Puppies get gentle daily handling, gradual exposure to everyday household sounds, age-appropriate play with toys and textures, and a consistent routine for feeding, rest and play. Potty foundations start when puppies are developmentally ready. The team also watches each puppy's confidence, energy and interaction style, and uses that to help match puppies with the right families. Their early development page walks through each stage.
Sage Puppies' parent dogs are health tested, and every puppy has a veterinary wellness exam before going home. Puppies go home with age-appropriate vaccinations, a deworming schedule already started, and a health record packet. Every puppy also comes with a written health guarantee, and Sage Puppies is upfront about how it works on their health guarantee page.
A lot of buyers find puppy pricing confusing. Sage Puppies publishes its range up front, currently $3,500 to $4,500 depending on breed, size and markings, and lays out its reservation process and deposit and refund policy in writing. Puppies go home with starter food, a blanket and a toy, plus guidance on bringing your puppy home.
Local pickup is by appointment in South Jordan, and nationwide delivery is available, arranged case by case. Sage Puppies also runs a guardian home program for smoke-free homes within driving distance of South Jordan, with a written agreement.
